Our Story

A Foundation Born from Legacy

Hajjat Mutagubya Foundation Ltd was established on 1 June 2022 in Kampala, Uganda — a nonprofit organisation named in honour of the late Hajjat Mutagubya, daughter of the late Hajjat Mwajabu Bint Lau and the late Hajji Abubakari Kabuye. She was a devoted mother, respected community councillor, and passionate women's rights activist whose life was a testament to service.

The Foundation was established by her family to carry forward her legacy and continue the work she began — creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and building a brighter future through four core pillars: Education, Health & Wellbeing, Economic Empowerment, and Sustainable Development.

We are guided by our motto — "Nurturing Hope, Building Communities" — and by the enduring belief that every individual deserves the opportunity, support, and resources to thrive.

Rooted in the communities we serve, we work alongside families, local leaders, and partner organisations to deliver programmes that create lasting, meaningful change — not just for today, but for generations to come.
